When Katie Berry decided to become a celebrant, she chose to undertake training so she’d be her absolute best. Not once has she regretted that decision to train with The Celebrant School.

The benefits of training were apparent immediately. As Katie said, she “came to the course not to polish any particular skill but to bring all of what I had into a coherent offering around which I could build a business”. Now a registered celebrant, with 30-something weddings completed and more booked in the months ahead, Katie’s business (which she relocated from Auckland to Tauranga with her young family) is going full steam ahead.

The connections with other celebrants during the training was a real plus for Katie, and she continues to share referrals and reflections with them. “My natural celebrant style is jovial and fun, so it was inspiring to experience different styles including some who brought real gravitas to the room. Nuggets of shared wisdom have definitely enriched my practice.”

You don’t have to train, but should you? “Absolutely!” reinforces Katie. “I was 100% ready when I did my first ceremony. It was fabulous and flawless, and the bride, herself a former celebrant, was delighted. She said ‘Katie Berry made our day – it was so very special and something we’ll remember all our lives’.” And that is exactly what Katie strives for. “I aim to do my absolute best for my couples and for their once-in-a-lifetime events.”
