All modules are offered part-time, and are usually held over consecutive weekends on Saturdays and Sundays, between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. The time you spend in the workshop is supplemented by self-directed learning, including pre-work, reading and assignments. Please allow a total of 60 hours per module.

Each module consists of 8 sessions over 4 days. Because of the experiential nature of the learning, you are expected to attend all sessions. In exceptional circumstances, and only with the written agreement of the lecturer, up to 2 sessions may be able to be missed, without affecting your eligibility to pass the module.

Computer Skills

Computer skills are vital for the contemporary celebrant, and basic word processing is the minimum requirement. You are welcome to bring a laptop or tablet to class. Please let us know if you need additional support.

The fee for each module, including GST is listed on the enrolment page. A non-refundable deposit of $150 is required at the time of enrolment, and the remainder is due six weeks prior to the course beginning. If you are having difficulty paying, please contact us immediately to arrange a payment plan. Payment of the deposit must be made on the day of enrolment and may be done immediately on the website via PoliPay, or using your internet banking, or by depositing into The Celebrant School account (ASB Bank Account no. 12 3025 0007384 00) at your bank

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Fees are payable six weeks prior to the commencement of a module. If the fee has been paid in full, and cancellation is more than six weeks before a module starts, your enrolment may be fully transferred to a different date or a refund less deposit given.  If enrolment is cancelled 3-6 weeks before the date of the module commencing, a refund of 50% of the fees less the deposit, will be given. If enrolment is cancelled within three weeks of the module starting, no refund will be given.

Consideration may be given to unavoidable and exceptional circumstances. If this might apply to you, please write to, explaining the reasons for withdrawal or postponement.

Wait Lists

Small group sizes are important, allowing you to absorb and practise your skills as a celebrant in a safe environment. If a module is over-subscribed, we will put you on a waiting list and notify you when a place becomes available.

Students who do not pass a module will need to re-enrol and pay the full module fee.

Complaint Process

You can be reassured you are working with professionals, and we have a clear Complaint Policy in case of misunderstandings or grievances. In the first instance, please contact The Director of The Celebrant School (contact details below).
